For Sale: 1941 Studebaker Commander in Lynchburg, Virginia for sale in Lynchburg, VA

1 of 23
Vehicle Description Formerly owned for thirty five plus years by veteran Studebaker and Packard collector - Robert W.
Valpey, of Center Harbor, New Hampshire.
He owned this old dirt racer at least since the early 1980's.
Who built it? Where it raced? We don't know.
For certain, it was built well and meant to go fast.
It has a race prepared Packard V-8 (thought to be the 374CI displacement) with solid lifters, adjustable pushrods, and four single barrel Holly carburetors.
The engine was moved further back.
It uses a 39 Ford front axle.
The distributor is accessed from a steel door inside the cabin.
It has a roll cage.
Like an old stock car, the build as far as the exterior appears a bit on the crude side.
It's old paint but quite good and very presentable.
It has a new battery and fresh gas.
She fires up easy, goes into gear, and we drove around on a big parking lot.
No doubt it should be checked over and would needs some work before she goes back out on a track.
It is fun old thing with a very cool look to it.
No title / sold on a bill of sale only.
1st $9850 will take it home.
Located in Central Virginia.
