BWXT is currently seeking a RTR QC Engineer for its Lynchburg, VA location!

The RTR QC Engineer role is responsible for providing RTR QC floor support to the UPRR Research and Test Reactors Quality Control team.
This position will also work with the QC FLM, QA, Process Engineering, and Operations.

Job Description/Duties:

  • Establishes well-documented and appropriately executed inspection techniques and methods for the verification of component attributes to working and design limits.
  • Assists or oversees the qualification of new and/or updated equipment and troubleshoots existing inspection equipment.
  • Develops and revises procedures to verify conformance with contract requirements.
  • Supports customer audits and inspections; performs internal audits and inspections.
    Identifies continuous improvement for inspections.
  • Provides technical input for proposals and development activities.
    Reviews existing and new specifications and requirements.
  • Participates in incident investigation teams.
  • Investigates non-conformances and recommends and implements actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Authors reports, CHG's, N-420's, SER's, and RWP's.
  • Analyzes statistical data to determine if drift is occurring.
  • Trains inspectors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A Bachelor s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required
  • Must be capable of developing processes, procedures and equipment specifications based upon customer specifications.
  • Must possess proven ability using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have demonstrable skills and knowledge of QC inspection methods and equipment.
  • Must demonstrate previous experience using various quality control techniques to analyze, trend, and improve product quality.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.
    S.
    Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

U.
S.
Citizenship, with no dual citizenship is required for this position.

Position requires U.
S.
citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation,

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
