Position Description
The roles primary responsibility is to develop the companys inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings, rationalizing inventory and maximizing available working capital. The Inventory Control Manager is also responsible for implementing the companys perpetual inventory stock counting and inventory accuracy checks (cycle count program). Role requires a self- motivated team player with strong leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in related field (Inventory Control, Warehousing).
ERP/MRP expertise required.
Good communicator and team member.
High degree of initiative and ownership.
Must be able to spend up to four hours per day in the assigned manufacturing areas.
Must be a US citizen (ability to have access to entire plant)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCE, BUT NOT REQUIRED.
MBA
Professional certification
Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
Experience in a discrete and/or job shop manufacturing environment
Position Requirements
Support Operations by maintaining inventory accuracy of material available for production.
Ensure that inventory shrinkage due to loss, theft or damage is kept to a minimum.
Implement improvement processes and systems to increase inventory accuracy, minimize costs, and reduce inventory where possible.
Develop accurate written procedures for all main inventory control processes and functions.
Ensure transactional integrity and accuracy of the stock management system.
Produce daily/weekly/monthly reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved.
Oversee and coordinate all material movement from receipt to consumption.
