Job Description:
The Communication Generalist maintains responsibility for receiving and activating request from multiple sources for ground and helicopter transportation.
Receives Medicaid transportation request and obtains authorization.
Communicates operational questions to Shift Lead, Supervisor, Nursing Supervisor and/or Flow Coordinator as they arise.
Qualifications/Education/Licensure:
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of experience in pre-hospital field or Dispatching experience is preferred.
Basic computer proficiencies and the strong ability to multi-task.
Ability to operate complex phone system/radio system.
Virginia EMT-Basic certification, within 24 months of starting this job.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross, within 12 months of starting this job.
Modified EMD course, within 12 months of starting this job.
