BWXT is currently seeking a Manufacturing/Equipment Engineer for its Lynchburg, VA location!The Manufacturing/Equipment Engineer provides engineering support for shop floor operations while continuously putting safety first.
Job Description/Duties:
Provides operations support in a manufacturing unit and functions as the area expert for equipment and processes.
Interfaces with operators to troubleshoot or resolve equipment and operation problems as they arise.
Designs and implements manufacturing processes for new and existing equipment based on customer requirements.
Develops and maintains operating procedures as well as technical documents for area processes and equipment.
Implements process improvements for safety and efficiency.
Assists Engineering personnel with data analysis and submits documents for approval of new or modified processes.
Facilitates communication between operators, management, maintenance, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Develops technical specifications for new hardware and software procurements or development.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus two (2) years of relevant experience is required.
Internal candidates with a Physics Degree who are already on the Engineering Ladder are also eligible.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Must have demonstrated technical and critical thinking skills.
A strong focus on Safety and Quality is required.
Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with hourly and salary personnel is required.
Must have demonstrated superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities is required.
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.
S.
Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
