BWXT is currently seeking a Statistics Unit Manager for its Lynchburg, VA location!The Statistics Unit Manager will provide leadership to the unit which consists of several distinct functions:
ad hoc and standard statistical assessments, section lot release, and program system modifications.
The Statistics team consists of approximately ten (10) salaried employees.
The position must practice and support 200% accountability.
Job Description/Duties:
Maintains open communications with customers regarding statistics assessments, process controls, and systems to ensure quality.
Communicates project status, work priorities, expectations, and significant events to direct reports, peers, and senior management.
Mentors and manages direct reports by establishing and tracking goals, conducting annual performance reviews, addressing personnel issues, and enforcing NOG-L policies.
Develops and executes Division strategic goals and area-specific goals.
Monitors and improves performance of work area.
Creates and tracks the unit's annual expense budget; generates area cost estimates for contract modifications and new work.
Maintains appropriate staffing levels.
Serves as the business leader for the Statistical Analysis System (SAS) site implementation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Applied Science, or Engineering is required.

Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience in a relevant field.
This could include, but is not limited to, lead positions, previous management roles in other companies, and/or volunteer leadership experience.
Must possess proven ability in decision making.
Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must have the ability to effectively work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Must be able to succeed with a broad area of responsibility while fostering a positive safety culture.
Must be adept at interfacing with Customers, vendors, and project management across the areas of responsibility.
Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a rapidly changing environment is required.
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.
S.
Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
