BWXT Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg is seeking experienced professionals interested in continuing their careers as a Health Physicist (HP) or Radiological Engineer in our Lynchburg facilities! The HP/Radiological Engineer is a multi-level posting and the candidate selected will be compensated at the appropriate level commensurate with depth and breadth of education, certification, proven experience and skills.
Job Description/Duties:
Performs regulatory compliance assessments, and radiological safety oversight.
Provides radiological site characterization and remediation support.
Conducts internal dose assessments and environmental release modeling.
Performs routine surveillance, inspections and audits where material is used and stored to ensure compliance with State and Federal license requirements.
Provides operating areas with specific radiation protection professional input and oversight.
Maintains and operates computer codes for Shielding, Bioassay, Environmental Dispersion, Emergency Response, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, related physical science or Engineering discipline; or other related field is required.
A minimum of six (6) years of experience is required.
A Master's degree in Health Physics, related physical science or Engineering discipline; or other related field is preferred.
Wide industry experience such as nuclear power plant (NPP), uranium, and transuranic (TRU) is highly desirable.
Certification by the American Board of Health Physics (ABHP) is preferred.
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.
S.
Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
Possession of an active Department of Energy Q clearance is desired.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
