BWXT is currently seeking an Element Engineering Unit Manager for its Lynchburg, VA location!The Element Engineering Unit Manager will be responsible for leading a team of engineers with ownership of the entire element process.
Job Description/Duties:
Owns product quality and schedules.
Ensures license to work issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Maintains direct customer contact and interaction relative to product concerns and problem solving.
Collaborates with other departments to resolve technical concerns.
Establishes budget and maintains expenses.
Approves technical submittals, drawings, procedures, process routings, and schedule planning.
Creates engineering and shop manpower estimates.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience in a relevant field.
This could include, but is not limited to, lead positions, previous management roles in other companies, and/or volunteer leadership experience.
Previous Filler/Element experience is strongly desired.
Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities is required.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required.
Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a rapidly changing environment is required.
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.
S.
Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
