The IT Architect will be responsible for developing and maintaining the high-level logical and technical design plans for various standards and system solutions.
This individual will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level.
The IT Architect will gain organizational commitment for all high-level infrastructure plans, and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans.
Job Description/Duties:

Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining corporate systems and software.

Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to Systems Analysts, Systems Administrators, and software development teams.

Review new and existing IT projects, systems design, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans.

Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.

Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.

Where applicable, design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.

Document the companys existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.

Review new and existing systems design projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with standards and architectural plans.

Confer with end-users, clients, or senior management to define business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development.

Model business and systems processes based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.

Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.

Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance.
Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.

Develop and manage a systems capacity plan.

Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and software as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, or equivalent experience
At least ten (10) years of relevant experience, 5 years of IT Systems Engineering
Must be a U.
S.
citizen with no dual citizenship
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.
S.
Department of Energy (DOE) clearance Additional Qualifications/Requirements:

Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills

Ability to present ideas and solutions in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Excellent technical architecture and technical support documentation skills
Highly self-motivated and self-directed
Keen attention to detail
Strong background in IT Operations
Extensive experience with hyperconverged technologies
Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.

Proven experience in systems and network design and development.

Familiarity with Microsoft based web technologies, such as SharePoint, Edge, web pages, Teams, etc.

Highly effective time management, communication, and organizational skills.
