The Library Clerk I aids Adult Services in running the reference desk, including operating library software and assisting patrons, in a busy and diverse public library.
Evening and Saturday hours are required.
Essential Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Staffs the Adult Services Desk assisting patrons with The Public Access Catalog (PAC) computers The public computers Printing Scanning documents Faxing documents The self-service copy machine Online library services E-readers, tablets, smart phones, and other personal devices Taking money in exchange for library services Answering reference questions in person and over the phone Cares for the Adult area of the library by Offering help to patrons while on the floor Monitoring for inappropriate behavior and policy infringement Tidying the tables, chairs, and stacks Shelf reading Assists Librarians by Helping librarians and library assistants with shifting, rearranging, and weeding Designing book displays Preparing for and cleaning up after programs Provides excellent customer service to a diverse public Performs other tasks as needed ADDITIONAL DUTIES Other duties to provide direct or indirect service to the citizens may be assigned.
When unusual situations occur and/or the City Manager declares a State of Emergency, all City employees may be required to accept special assignments and perform as needed to ensure appropriate service delivery.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None Minimum Education and Experience Required QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Graduation from high school and some experience in general clerical work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements Must successfully complete IS100 and IS700 National Incident Management (NIMS) training within 90 days of employment.
May also be required to complete higher levels of NIMS training as determined appropriate for the position.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
